You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and drive for 3 hours to Materuni Village. After the registration is complete in the Materuni Village office the adventure begins. Before anything you will walk over a narrow path through lush vegetation to the Waterfalls. On clear days will have a chance to view the Iconic Mount Kilimanjaro view. This hidden gem is surrounded by dense vegetation. Feel the cool mist on your face as the falls create a serene atmosphere. Your guide will give an Introduction to the Chagga Tribe and their daily lives, traditions, and the challenges they face. This cultural exchange provides a unique opportunity to connect with the local community. You will have time to rest at the waterfall, or even swim if you’re okay with cold water, and take pictures for your memories. Later on, you will walk back to the village on a different path and continue with your coffee tour experience. Your guide will give you an explanation of how coffee maize and beans are grown, dried, and roasted. That is not all, the best part is you will have a chance to execute every step of making coffee by yourself while the locals sing and dance. After the all hard work in making coffee, you deserve a nice lunch, local mamas in the village will be happy to prepare most of the common delicious chagga dishes, Banana stew, pilau, or rice and beans which are only a few depending on your options. Once you finish your meal and coffee, your guide will drive you back to Arusha to your hotel.
