Best Time for Tanzania Safari to Zanzibar Beach Holiday  

The best time for a 9-day Tanzania safari followed by a Zanzibar beach holiday depends on your priorities. June to October and January to February offer a well-balanced experience with excellent wildlife viewing and ideal beach weather. However, you can still have a rewarding trip during the shoulder seasons or even the wet season. Be sure to plan and book your trip well in advance to secure the accommodations and experiences you desire.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Transfer from the Airport in the afternoon to your Accommodation for lunch and relaxation, on the evening we will do a city tour in Arusha to familiarize ourselves with the culture and local Markets.

  • Stay overnight at the Grand Melia Hotel.

Day 2: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart to Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high-lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Then head to the Central Park area, known as the Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. 

  • Dinner and overnight at Serena Lodge.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive In Serengeti National Park

After early morning breakfasts. Enjoy a full-day game drive inside the park (Serengeti) for the whole day. Today will be a game drive for the Big Five searching. Expect to see and learn a lot about animals and their behavior. Stop for a bush lunch in the middle of the wilderness and then continue with the tour. You’ll then proceed to your accommodation for

Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you will do a morning game drive in Central Serengeti National Park on route heading to Ngorongoro Crater. This crater is the largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera in the world. This was formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself about three billion years ago. Then you will drive down the steep and narrow road that takes you into the crater. Here the wildlife is just breathtaking and with a little luck you can observe the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard in just a few hours. After a morning dedicated to game viewing and a picnic lunch at the hippo pool and once our tour is finished, we will continue on our way to our accommodation

  • Overnight Staying at Ngorongoro Serena

Day 5: Crater Rim walking tour -Arusha to Zanzibar.

After breakfast, we will proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and enjoy the walking tour around the crater rim escorted by the army ranger for our safety, then you will drive down the steep and narrow road that takes you into the crater. Here the wildlife is just breath-taking and with a little luck you can observe the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino– in just a few hours. This tour is a lifetime experience, after the Ngorongoro Crater tour we will drive back to Arusha and take your flight to Zanzibar. Our guide will be waiting for you in Zanzibar for a private transfer to Kiengwa. The activities for today include a walking safari and a transfer.

Day 6 - 8: Zanzibar Beach Escape

Enjoy three relaxing days in tropical paradise. Zanzibar offers the perfect combination of relaxation, culture, and adventure.

Day 9: Departure Day

Half-day beach relaxation at the hotel, in the late afternoon Transferred to the Airport.
