7 Days Rongai Route Kilimanjaro Climb

Tour Overview

The Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northeastern side near the Kenyan border. It is one of the quieter routes on the mountain and offers a unique wilderness experience with fewer climbers compared to other routes.

This route is considered the second easiest route after the Marangu Route, making it a great option for climbers looking for a less crowded trek with a gradual ascent.

The journey takes you through beautiful landscapes in Kilimanjaro National Park including forest, moorland, alpine desert, and the spectacular summit zone at Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) — the highest point in Africa.

The Rongai Route is used for the ascent, while the descent follows the Marangu Route.
